Wednesday May 25th

E was in a mood for most of the day!
It rained, we stayed inside and occupied ourselves.

Brett had a good day at work. He was on his own programing a machine and running through welds on his own. He also was treated to lunch where his boss prepared marinated chicken breasts and hamburgers.
Brett reported he ate 2breasts and 1burger!
E and I had PJ with tropical fruit. He should invite his family next time :)

We did go to the Y for out daily routine. E was in a little bit better mood after her nap and a romp with other kids. However, the girls were entertaining her bc she was getting pouty in daycare too.

Tomorrow will be a better day! It has to be!
Pics from yesterday to make up for today...
FYI, everything can be used as a phone!

Tuesday May 24th

Another beautiful morning! We were supposed to have rain all week. This has been great.
As we left for our playground mission attempt II, outlook was promising.

I was over 1/2 way there when tiny bitting bugs began to buzz me. Gross!!
I put E in the swing, so she could keep the bugs away. We eventually made our way to the play-set too.
Thank goodness Brett forgot his flash drive and was coming home for lunch.
I asked him to detour and give us a ride back to our room.

We went to the Y again so we could run and E could burn some energy, NOT being eaten by bugs.
Plus, she's really liking the child care playroom.

Monday May 23rd

After all the weather excitement Sunday, it was a very nice morning.
E and I waited a little while before leaving for our walk.
Unfortunately, the playground was still SUPER wet!
We visited the post office and walked around town again (it only takes a few minutes).

SO we had to come back to our hotel and find some inside things to do.
Paint!!!

We took our showers and headed to the Y for some work-out and to play with kids of course!
After dinner, E jumped on the phone and said "heh-ro" to all her friends.

Sunday May 22nd

We rode the Duck Creek Trail from Davenport to Bettendorf.  24miles total
Started at the Northwest Park...

After the ride, we stopped at the local grocery store for afternoon snacks..
Watermelon and Cantaloupe. YUMMMMM

After the snacks we had to find another playground to wear E out before bed.

THEN came the rain....

During a Tornado Warning you Should:

A. go outside and take pictures
B. join the hotel guests in the dining area
C. Take the topper off the Saab
D. All of the Above

YES D!

These photos do NO justice to the storm. The rain came out of nowhere. It was super sunny & warm, then it just turned black and windy. The rain was blowing in sheets across the grass.

Everything calmed down & the sun came out again.
Next thing we know, we are getting a call from the front desk to wait with hotel guests in the dining area. E was asleep on my shoulder at this point, totally oblivious.
Around 9:30 we were taken off the warning and we all went back to our rooms.

We could see the lighting and hear the Tornado Sirens going off in surrounding counties.

Saturday May 21st - JUDGEMENT DAY

I was up early to try to get on-line classes and homework completed so we could play!

Breakfast first!

We arrived at the Y as soon as childcare opened at 9AM. Again, E walked right in and smiled at the girls working.
Came home ate some lunch, Brett napped, while E and I ran around the room then played outside.
Rain was again in the forecast, so we didn't have much hope for anything outdoors today.

When Brett woke up we decided to go check-out the downtown Davenport area.
E was asleep right away, so we found the visitor's center and parked by the river. The man working at the center gave me enough brochures to fill a shopping bag, he described each place, and found them on the map for me. Nice man :)

We drove to check-out the bike trail heads and West Scott lake. There is a disc-golf course there, complete with nice score cards and surrounded by water. In the rules it says you are NOT allowed to go in the water after a disc! HOW the HECK am I supposed to play this course!

By the way, if you are still alive on May 22, you were NOT one of the chosen ones, sorry.
