Sunday July3rd

Party day at the condo.
Homemade breakfast by Ava was out start to the day. Brett and Dad then headed over to pickup the Jetta and check out the house.
I was wondering what was taking Brett so long to get back! He came home with a vintage 1940's-50's hawaiian halter top dress. VERY COOL. It fit perfectly! The dress looks handmade. It's definitely been custom fit to a smaller waist with a big uptop area :)
The mannequin had a big puff skirt underneath, but Brett wasn't sure about it. When the dress ended up fitting me, he drove back to the store and scooped up the pooof! It's super cool. Atomic Closet is the local vintage shop. She actually has a lot of really neat things in there.

1PM I am ready for the parade, K stops by with the crew and we all walk down there together. We picked a great spot where I helped A elbow other kids to get as much candy as we could. VERY kidding, but I definitely was helping her, couldn't help myself. E and D weren't impressed with the sirens all going off at once, and I don't blame them. No tears were shed. AND just after that people came around giving out flavor-ice! Yes! and bottled water! how great is that?!

E ate her ice and let her dad have some down the back of his legs and shirt :) He took the backpack, b/c my new dress was too awesome to cover up!

After that we all walked to the fountain where Ava's brother was going to be in a dunk tank. We had a 1/2 hour to spare so A grabbed E and they went off to play. While they were playing the newspaper snapped a photo and took names. We'll see if they get in :)

We went our separate ways after the tank. Brett helped put together hamburger patties for the party. It was 4 and no guests were there yet. A friend of Brett's showed up on his boat and took him for a ride. E and I threw our suits on and played in the water outside the condo. She  flung herself and trusted me to catch her. We did doggie paddles and backstrokes and then she was turing blue, so we went in and put our party clothes back on.

Dinner was ready and guests were showing up. Dad was surprised when everyone started singing happy birthday (even though it's not this weekend). E had a friend close in age show up and they played pretty well together. He's a little older, but E was able to steal and wear his shoes, play with his crayons and trucks. He rode on Dora and cuddled Slush and George. They were funny.

A lot of chatting, drinking, and playing went on most of the night.
K and her crew showed up just in time for fireworks.

The condo faces the fireworks launch site, so there were families galore filling the grass in front of the water.
