Okay, so yesterday I had a feeling I was headed to TC today.
sure enough, 3:00-3:30 - awake with contractions every 10mins. Went back to bed for a while & finally decided to get everyone packed up a ready to go. I waited till 6-6:30 before I woke everyone up to say today is the day! Honestly, I was going to wait till 9-10 before telling anyone we need to get going.
My sister and Brett were both influential in the GET GOING department.
Needed to get E to her grandparents, car unloaded/loaded (minimal, but the infant carseat was a must).
Done. Brett and I drove to TC to be prepared for any sudden changes. I warned him it was going to b a while still. We went to breakfast at The Omelet Shop, drove to the bay so brett could study class notes & I worked on the computer, power walked the mall for an hour, went to bookstore downtown TC for another 45min & contractions finally started to really kick-up and change! Thanks to my friend Denise who is AWESOME at giving labor & delivery advice!!!!!!
I did look a little crazy if they have me on camera at the bookstore. A few lunges, side stepping, taking their stairs, modified quadruped positions anything to get pelvis moving and make baby get ready.
After this change we headed to the hospital, mainly because we were out of ideas as to what we should go do. Triage check-in was fine, but I was too early. Only to 3-4 at that point. We were told to walk around the maternity area for an hour! Um......yeah.
We hopped in the car & headed back downtown TC. Brett picked up some coffee & we walked from one end of town to the other & back.
--Side note, we stopped at the Toy Store to pick up E something nice from the newbie.
The lady asked when the new baby was coming. When we said in a few hours, her face turned to ALARM!! She started wrapping the gifts at turbo speed. Brett & I left giggling as we just FREAKED that lady out!!!
Anyway, back to the hospital. Blahhhhhhhhh, but lets's do this! I've been ready to push all morning.
My favorite OB was there & offered to break my water bc I was now 4-5 easy!!
I said YES!!! Let's get this going!!! & it did :)
Of course, I had the 'drug warning' - if you need drugs, now is the time...ha ha ha! right,
2:30/40 water broken...4:27 done!!! 18mins of pushing. Darn! I was hoping to be very efficient this time & get my time down to be even quicker. The worst part...Sunny side up! The little person was really killing my back.
Oh well, a least I'm healing SOOOOOooooo much faster! I was ready for a track walk on Tuesday.
Oh yeah, IT's a BOY?!!!!! WTF!!!!!!! The nurse said the look on my face was Priceless & She doesn't see that anymore. She also commented on how fast and efficient drug free labor & delivery is. The staff we saw in our 24 hour stay was AWESOME!!! Everyone was super friendly & really nice. PLUS, as a bonus, mini-man never left the room. THAT I LOVED!
One of each our little lady & mini-man or little dude (he still needs a nickname), how exciting, New adventures, New experiences, NO more kids :)
I'm very lucky to have easy breezy pregnancies, fast labors & quick recovery.
I will take that an be VERY happy with our great little 4-some.
--Time to MAKE SURE we will only have 2 :)
After his first bath & all snuggled in.
Thank again to all of the Munson Staff We met in our 24hour stay. Our Labor & Delivery RN was amazing & Dr Riddle was so GREAT at keeping the entire birth so light and laid back.
****thank you to sis K for taking these and many other family photos immediately after birth!
